Tinder Boost Goes Live
Tinder has a new feature -called Tinder Boost- and is enabling singles to show their profile first on the app's feed. Rollout began on October 19 for the worldwide audience.
The company behind the world's most well-known dating app began its tests in Australia in September. It is now finally becoming available to singles all over the world. With the Boost feature, users who pay will have their profile put to top of the Tinder feed for a period of 3 minutes. This means that all potential and relevant matches will see the profile before anyone else's.
Head of Revenue and Core Product at Tinder, Brian Norgard, said to representatives of TechCrunch:
When it comes to the costs of Tinder Boost, nothing has really been set in stone for the new feature just yet. At the moment, however, those purchasing Boosts for their profiles appear to be paying between US$1.99 and US$3.99. What's also pretty cool is that, depending on the number of Boosts you choose to buy, you receive a discount and therefore get more.
Tinder Plus is already giving the game edge by promoting "unlimited" swipes, the Super Like feature and giving users the option to switch off annoying adverts. Boost, however, is not necessarily a part of the Plus version and is available to any user who is happy to pay for one.
The Tinder Boost rollout has already begun with the App Store, so anyone with an iOS device is covered. For those who use other smartphones and devices, it will take a couple of days before the dating app has this in full swing.
