What Were the Most Popular Dating Apps in 2016? Where Singles Went to Find Love
There are a lot of online dating apps and sites out there… but which service is the best? That is often a matter of preference. The factors that make a particular platform "the best" can vary from one person to the next. However, it is a lot easier to see what the most popular dating sites were in 2016 thanks to information from app analytics company Applause.OKCupid
On OKCupid there is a profile system that “matches” its users in accordance with their answers to various questions that cover a range of topics (dating, sex, ethics, etc.). It is already a well-known and established service and its app version has also improved considerably to ensure that it keeps up with its audience, hence making it one of the more popular ones out there – particularly in the UK and the USA.
Grindr
Grindr is more or less a buzzword in the gay community, especially considering that it has been around for so long! The main aim of the app is to get men to meet one another quickly… for whatever it is they happen to be looking for (love, sex… although in a lot of cases it is mostly sex!). In comparison to a lot of other services for the gay community (or at least, specifically, for gay men…), it is at least one of the most mentioned.
Hinge
Hinge is a dating app that has one component in particular that is particularly unique… unlike many of the other platforms that help you meet complete strangers, Hinge aims to match singles based on mutual friends. So this means that only your extended social network is shown, which is of course not always a good thing for some singles. For those who want security and safety, this is clear. For those looking for casual dating, it may be a bit awkward…
