Your Profile Pics: Use Conversation Pieces

This is often an underused and understated piece of advice that can make your profile more interesting. Take pictures of yourself doing the things you actually like doing – drinking wine, going on hikes, washing the car… whatever, really. Show off your personality. And of course, the more interesting the photo is then the more likely someone is going to comment on it and maybe strike up a conversation.

Use a Good Camera!

There are countless different cameras out there and even a lot of good ones are quite cheap. Plenty of smartphones have decent cameras as well. In spite of this, it is surprising how many online dating profiles have grainy pictures from old webcams or low-quality cameras. There really is no excuse for it nowadays.

Get Rid of Old Photos

If your photos no longer apply, then get rid of them! Nobody wants to see what you looked like 10 years ago… it’s the present that counts. Many people will feel lied to if you look drastically different to what went before. So make sure to get rid of it and move on: there is a lot more out there that you can choose from!

Know the Audience

If you’re looking for sex… Then angled photos, duckfaces, topless (or even naked) selfies are all perfectly acceptable since this is what other people will be looking for as well. However, if you’re on a matchmaking site and looking for the love of your life, it’s best to tone it down a little or at least cover up. Remember to know your audience!
