Test summary:

review 2021 FriendFinder:

FriendFinder is owned and operated by FriendFinder Networks, which also runs several of the most heavily-trafficked websites on the Internet. The company was founded in 1996 and their mountain of experience is clear when you login to FriendFinder.com. Available in English, Spanish, German and several other languages...

...FriendFinder caters towards individuals who are on the lookout for friends, love, romance or marriage.

The number of active members we found turned out to be around 400,000 users, this social dating community really does its best to cater for everyone. Overall, it appears that there are about 1.5 million members in the database altogether.

FriendFinder.com: Experience

At first glance, FriendFinder has a pretty large number of profiles. One good thing we also gleaned from our experience is that a lot of the profiles have a photograph. The photos look pretty real, clearly having been taken by the users themselves or at least their friends. This helps to give the site a good feeling of authenticity which, quite frankly, is exactly what you want when you meet someone new.

With the amount of things that you can do on FriendFinder, it may seem a little overwhelming at first. Thankfully it is laid out in a simple manner, meaning that you can find your way around quite easily.

Good Features on FriendFinder

You have a lot of opportunities to express yourself on FriendFinder with the particular features. Like most dating sites, you fill out a profile:

  • A Compatibility Chart helps to show whether you and the users you view are a good match.
  • The more ‘Cupid Preferences’ you fill out, the more accurate your report.
  • There are even quirky ways to be creative, such as creating digital ‘Bling’ badges by using an online editor, which can then be sent to other members.

What is unique, however, is the way in which you can further expand your profile via the use of blogs. All members are able to write a blog, posting their thoughts and musings to the rest of the FriendFinder community.

This also ties in well with the FriendFinder Magazine, which is written for and by the users. The more popular you are as a writer in the Magazine, the more people you will have flocking to you. Do not forget about Member Groups, either. These are yet another way of getting to talk to other people and possibly even land a date.

FriendFinder: Communication, Flirting and Upgrading

Communicating on FriendFinder will require upgrading. Members typically communicate through the use of instant messaging, internal emails and chat. As an upgraded member, you can create your own private chat room with a password and ‘invite’ other people.

Flirting and adding users to your personal ‘hotlist’ will increase your overall interaction with members. Creating a live webcam show will also allow others to see you in real time and chat with them. What is quite nice about FriendFinder is that you can refer other members to a friend, as well as gift them with an upgrade that you pay for. If that’s not showing that you like someone, we don’t know what is!

FriendFinder - Costs:

  • You can create a profile and browse for free.
  • Unlimited access starts from £20.95/month.
